The Lord's Prayer           Traditional English Version:

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our debts (trespasses), as we forgive our debtors (those who trespass against us).

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:

For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever.

Amen.

This prayer, taught by the Lord Jesus Christ to his disciples (trainees), makes an excellent, handy, prayer of Christianity.

It covers "all the bases."

This prayer is found in Matthew 6:9-13 and in Luke chapter 11.

All important aspects of a true, intelligent, sincere, careful prayer to God, are covered.

It’s well worth memorizing.   One can add other items too.
